Autumn Splendour
-
The time has come once again,
For trees to shed their leaves.
And Squirrels scurrying to and fro,
Their Winter store receive.
-
Morning mists and afternoon sun,
And colours, to the liking.
Oranges. Reds, Yellows and Browns,
All pleasant hues so striking.
-
And when you chance to take a stroll,
Through any tree lined place.
You cannot fail to notice,
The splendour of Autumn's face.
-
The leaves scrunching underfoot,
In such a special way.
And sounds that can only happen,
On an Autumn day
-
And if you stop a moment,
To drink up Autumns scene.
Remember, before the cold, cold grip of Winter,
Autumn's kiss has been.
-
The leaves fall down year by year,
To form a covering layer.
And in their cosy richness,
The seed, new life can bear.
-
And so it is a fact my friend,
Before new life can start.
The old life must finish,
And with it you must part.
-
How can we ever fail to thank,
Our Heavenly Father for His plan.
Which not only includes Autumn,
But the promise of Spring,
And the Salvation of Man.
